About me

My name is Michal Rozworski and I’m a lefty economist from Canada. I’ve been writing and podcasting on economics in Canada and beyond since 2013, trying to bring a popular left perspective to the collision of economics and politics. This site is the new home of my blog Political Eh-conomy (RSS feed).

My writing has appeared in venues like Jacobin, Ricochet (where I’m a contributing editor), The Toronto Star, Briarpatch Magazine, and The Tyee among others. I’m currently working my first book with Leigh Phillips for Verso Books.

Since early 2014, I’ve also produced a biweekly podcast. All episodes are available on this site and you can always subscribe via iTunes. Guests have included global figures like Yanis Varoufakis, Branko Milanovic, Kshama Sawant and Doug Henwood as well as a raft of Canadians: Jim Stanford, Armine Yalnizyan, Hayden King and Sam Gindin among many others. If you’re from a radio station that would like to syndicate the podcast or know of one that would be interested, get in touch!

In the past, I’ve done everything from graduate work in economics and philosophy to union organizing to low-wage service work. I currently work as a union researcher in Toronto, Canada.
